Events, sustainability and ecological transition“. A moment of reflection and exchange on Minimum Environmental Criteria for sustainable cultural events, to explore the practices already adopted in some Apulian festivals and discuss the future challenges of the ecological transition. The event is in fact designed as a comparison between sector operators, professionals, public bodies, institutions, trade associations, the public and artists. On this occasion, the results of research promoted by will also be presented Coolclub and made by InnovActiona cooperative company expert in the circular economy and owner of the brand Ecofestin collaboration with Creative Puglia and with the support of Single Market Program of the European Unionas part of a project action Creathriv-EU (Euroclusters for Thriving Creative and Cultural Industries), led by Creative Basilicata. The research involved four of the main Apulian music festivals (SIX Festival, Locomotives Jazz Festival, Locus Festival, Cinzella Festival), conducting a detailed analysis, interviewing the organizers and carrying out inspections to evaluate the environmental impact of each event.

«In recent years, we have intensified our attention to green issues, aware of the impact that our events have on the environment, the territory and the local communities in which we operate. The growing awareness of the urgency of acting to reduce these consequences pushes us towards increasingly systematic and integrated interventions, which involve a wide network of organisations, decision makers, suppliers and the public”, states Cesare Liaci, president of Coolclub. «This approach not only improves internal practices, but also offers the opportunity to demonstrate and share with stakeholders how sustainability principles are applied within the organization», we read in the research. «In general, the most significant impacts include the production of waste, high consumption of energy and water, the use of non-recycled or non-environmentally friendly materials, and CO2 emissions related to transport and activities». The green transition is not just an opportunity, but a pressing necessity. «The climate crisis presents us with unprecedented challenges that require immediate responses through concrete and meaningful actions. This involves adopting sustainable practices in every aspect of the events we organise,” he stresses Roberto Paladini, CEO of InnovAction Società Cooperativa. «We are aware of the difficulties in the path towards sustainability, but we are determined to overcome them through creativity, commitment and collaboration. Together, we can make the events sector an example of sustainability and a catalyst for positive change.”
