“Lodi resigns”. The political reactions to the outcome of the preliminary hearing in the Cidas case are not long in coming. The preliminary hearing judge, after just over an hour of hearing, committed the president of the cooperative Daniele Bertarelli to trial and scheduled the hearing in which the deputy mayor Nicola Lodi will be tried under the abbreviated procedure. For both, the accusation is an undue inducement to give or promise benefits. The first to speak is councilor Anna Ferraresi. The representative of Gruppo Misto publishes a letter addressed to the prefect Massimo Marchesiello, the mayor Alan Fabbri and the president of the municipal council Lorenzo Poltronieri. The subject was the request for the “immediate” resignation of the number two of the council. “Hereby – we read in the document – the undersigned requests the immediate resignation of the deputy mayor Nicola Lodi from his current institutional and administrative roles at the Municipality of Ferrara. This request arises from the very serious fact that Lodi is accused in the ‘Cidas case’.
It is considered essential to act promptly to preserve the image and effectiveness
of the municipal administration of Ferrara, by virtue of the responsibility and integrity required by
institutional roles that Nicola Lodi holds in our city”.
