Thursday 18 April at the “Giulio Ferrero” headquarters Italian Alpine Club of Cuneo in via Porta Mondovì the series of spring evenings dedicated to the Himalaya-Karakorum.

The documentary film that will be screened at 9pm is titled “Zabardast” by director Jerome Tanon.

Made in 2018 in the Pakistani mountains, it narrates the vicissitudes of a skiing expedition that lasted five weeks.

Also in the company headquarters in via Porta Mondovì Friday 19 April will take place onordinary meeting of members.

At 8.30 pm we will begin with the screening of the video “Gianni Ellena, the lord of the Corno Stella” created by the Panzera brothers. This is the first viewing at the Cai headquarters.

In addition to the presentation of the final balance sheet for 2023 and to appointment of delegates who represent the section in regional, interregional and national meetings, President Salsotto will report on the sectional activities.

This year the CAI of Cuneo celebrates 150 years of life. Founded way back in 1874 with the membership of a few dozen members, the Cuneo section has become one of the main CAI organizations in Italy with around 3200 members.

For this historic anniversary, an intense program of events and celebrations has been launched also in relation to the investiture of Cuneo as “Alpine City 2024” and the “Mountain Festival” which will take place in the month of May.

In addition to the events already held, other evenings have been included in the program for the coming months mountain filma botany course, meetings with the association “Sideralis Officina delle Stelle”the re-enactment of the expedition of the CAI of Cuneo in Greenland “Akuliarusek 74”.
