Top Thrill 2, the thrilling roller coaster
Comes from Zamperla, a historic Italian company producing amusement park attractions, the tallest and fastest triple launch roller coaster in the world: it is called Top Thrill 2 and was installed at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. His numbers? 193 km/h of maximum speed and 128 meters of height: truly something to be amazed by. There are three adrenaline-pumping launches on which the roller coaster is based, each with its own moment of airtime, or the incredible sensation of weightlessness. The first forward launch reaches 119 km/h, the second (backwards) reaches 163 km/h and finally the third, still forwards, it finally reaches 193 km/h.
Particularly exciting is the 128 meter vertical spire, as high as the famous Top Hat, which offers tourists a breathtaking view of the entire amusement park and one of the most adrenaline-filled moments of airtime. To succeed in this challenge, the Zamperla team made use of the main technologies. From the milled aluminum frame, free of welding and easier to manage, to the giant 530 mm wheels, which allow you to reach very high speedsup to carbon fiber to make Lightning trains lighter and more aerodynamic.

The Italian company is no stranger to this kind of attractions. In 2023 it launched the Canada’s fastest coaster and gained recognition for the creation of Big Wavez, a tower capable of creating a 15 meter wave, installed in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, Zamperla has put the historic Coney Island park back on its feet, relaunching it in just 100 days with a campaign that has attracted numerous tourists since 2010. The Top Thrill 2, therefore, is nothing other than theyet another success of the historic Vicenza company.
