TREVISO – Illegal speed cameras, the complaints leave to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Best Protection Association. And mayors, prefects, police forces and magistrates end up in the crosshairs. The case of the speed detector in the Treviso ring road was the driving force and now comes the complaint against the manufacturers of the device and the various authorities for «omissive conduct perpetrated to the detriment of the community».

Complaint filed against illegal speed cameras

The complaint has already arrived, in recent days, on the desks of the highest offices of the State: from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella to the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, passing through the presidents of the Constitutional Court and Cassation. And again: the ministers Carlo Nordio (justice), Adolfo Urso (businesses and made in Italy), Matteo Salvini (infrastructure and transport) and the presidents of the Chamber and Senate. In addition to the Council of State and the Court of Auditors. The association, champion of consumers and micro-businesses, has been fighting a legal battle against speed cameras for years. Best Protection asked the State to iinvestigate the actions of all the actors involvedstarting from the companies supplying the equipment for not having requested the MISE to issue the metrological certification. Fingers were also pointed at the Ministry of Transport, guilty, according to the association, of having approved non-approved detectors. Also under accusation are the prefects throughout Italy for having authorized the installation of devices which later turned out to be out of compliance, the local police forces, the municipalities and the magistrates. “We ask for appropriate investigations and investigations – we read in the complaint – to detect and repress those active or omissive behaviors to the detriment of the community or the individual, adopting measures against all those who will be held responsible”.
