This is the official data referring to 2023 for national flights to and from Catania’s Fontanarossa airportwhich is thus confirmed second for traffic within Italian territory. First the airport Rome Fiumicinowith 8 million and 736 thousand passengers and over 12% of national traffic. In third place is Palermo Punta Raisi airportwhich reaches altitude 5 million and 731 thousand passengers (plus 10%) according to what is reported by Enac, the National Civil Aviation Authority.

Catania is the sixth airport in Italy, Palermo ninth
