For us, healthcare means life, it means prevention, it means health, it means well-being, it means rights. All this has become only a privilege for a few: “if you have money you can be treated, otherwise you die!”
Are we at a point of no return, or are we imposing ourselves on this liberticidal Europe to demand that healthcare spending is above all else, which is the first necessity of a people, a fundamental and inalienable right, we must acknowledge that the priority for we Italians are very different from the bureaucrats of Brussels, we are the welfare state, they, this European Union, are a technocracy.
Spending on healthcare is defined by Europe as “bad debt”, as if it were an expense that you can choose not to make or that is negligible and suppressable for every citizen.
Healthcare is a necessary expense, unless someone wants us all to die.
Here it is no longer a debate between those who want public healthcare and those who want it private, given that we want it public. What is being said here is that healthcare should no longer exist for most people. Because as will happen from January 1st 2025, at the hands of the current government, the resources to be given to hospitals to provide healthcare services will be reduced by a fifth. They are effectively closing hospitals and leading to the collapse of the entire public and private healthcare system. They call it a healthcare nomenclature, for us it’s called an atomic bomb on our healthcare. The concrete effect is what we are already partially seeing, that is, large multinationals purchasing every corner of our healthcare system, making everything increasingly expensive and inaccessible.
Added to all this is the crazy planning of the current one who shamelessly writes in black and white in the budgets for the next few years that healthcare will continue to suffer heavy cuts.
For us, healthcare is a “good debt”, which should not be wasted, obviously we must fight against healthcare waste, the kind that enriches political appointees and healthcare lobbies.
Italy has a problem of violated rights and this Europe does not protect the interests of the people
In Italy we need healthcare, not weapons and not an immediate energy conversion to the detriment of everyone’s rights. A dead man can’t drive an electric car or pay house tax because he doesn’t have the money to make it green. Those who have the misfortune of going through an illness realize how helpless we have become in the face of parties that don’t care about people’s suffering. Seeing your father or your son or your husband who cannot be cured finds no reason.
It must be said, however, that healthcare will never restart if doctors, nurses and healthcare personnel are not hired who, if not adequately paid, will never choose to remain in Italy. It is also necessary to eliminate the limited number from the Medical University.
There is no Freedom without Sovereignty which we want to acquire again, the freedom to live.
This is the only battle for which it makes sense to engage in politics today.
