CREAM – Sixteen students – 12 females and 4 males – from the 4th D International Relations class of the Pacioli Institute attended the single criminal hearing today in Court held by the judge Francesco Panchieri, as part of the legality project. “Judge Panchieri had come to class, he was very helpful – explained the law professor, Elena Bossi -. We had three meetings, during which he explained to us his function, his work, his study path, the sacrifices and commitment he put in to get there. A job in solitude, that of the single judge, of reflection, of continuous study. He explained to us the figure of the judge, the prosecutor, the investigating judge, the Cartabia reform.”

A “very important” experience for the student Serena Tomasoniwho spoke on behalf of the class: “We had the opportunity to witness trials, especially for fraud. We have learned, first of all, how to be increasingly vigilant of what happens to us, because we have seen, through witnesses, (the alleged victims, ed) that when the judge asked them to testify, many did not ask the alleged fraudsters for their personal details. From their testimonies, however, we understood that we must be more cautious. It was a very important experience from this safety point of view. We also realized that one hearing is not enough: we need to attend others. The accused was missing, the witnesses were very confused, but you can understand it, because so many years pass between the fact and the trial.”
