The 2023 report of the Municipality of Turin has been approved – Torino Oggi

The Turin City Council today approved the management report for the 2023 financial year of the Municipality of Turin and the re-determination of the overall deficit reduction plan and the related first change to the 2024-2026 budget forecast.

The City has achieved all the objectives of the “Pact for Turin”, which provides for measures for the years from 2022 to 2042 aimed at improving collection, increasing revenue assessments, reviewing the organization of the municipal machinery in order to rationalize processes, streamlining procedures, improving services and containing expenses within a maximum ceiling, reducing debt from financing, reducing the use of treasury advances and interest payable, reducing expenses for transfers, respecting payment times and targets and milestones relating to the Pnrr and Pnc projects.

In 2023, a greater contribution of own resources was achieved compared to the objectives set by the Pact for Turin. Quantified as 79,522,498.61 euros, the greater recovery of the deficit achieved in the year 2023 compared to that definitively applied to the budget forecast, it was decided to allocate this sum to reduce the deficit to be covered in subsequent years.

As regards the cash balance, it went from 183.5 million euros in 2022 to 346 million euros as of 31 December 2023.

The active residues amount to 1 billion and 77 million euros, the passive residues to 373 million euros.

The administrative result as of 31 December 2023 is equal to 729 million and 887 thousand euros.

In the same session, the Red Room also approved the management report for the 2023 financial year of the Turin Institution for Responsible Education (Iter), which has activated 1,300 educational courses in the “Growing up in the city” catalogue.
