They will be celebrated Thursday 2 May, at 11am, in the parish church of San Giulio, the funeral of the mayor of Castellanza, Mirella Cerini, tragically died on 25 April after the Liberation Day celebrations inside the town hall and still wearing the tricolor sash. It is the wish of the family and of the Municipal Administration that donations are donated to Castellanza volunteer associations, beating heart of the city, instead of flowers. For the day of the funeral the municipal administration has proclaimed the citizen mourning.
There chapel of funeral will be open on Wednesday 1 May, from 9am to 6pm, in the Sala delle Colonne of Palazzo Brambilla, in the headquarters where the mayor worked with commitment and passion for his Castellanza, until the end. The beloved mayor was remembered on Sunday 28 April in the courtyard of the town hall where the boys and girls returning from the torchlight procession in Novacella, in the Bolzano area, carried the torch. There were many people waiting for them, fellow citizens and family members. Few words and a lot of respectful silence for an initial moment of public condolence while waiting to know the date of the autopsy and funeral ceremony.
