Last afternoon, in the Santa Palomba area, the Carabinieri of the Pomezia Company, during an extraordinary territorial control service aimed at preventing and repressing widespread crime in the industrial area of Pomezia, seized a large plantation of cannabis indica.
More in detail, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of Pomezia accessed uncultivated land where for some time they had noticed the presence of some truck trailers in an apparent state of abandonment. Upon accessing the area to carry out more in-depth checks, the workers found, in the vegetation, in addition to the aforementioned vehicles, the presence of two brick houses, from inside which they immediately perceived a very strong odor of marijuana coming from.
Proceeding with the inspection, therefore, the military ascertained how both buildings had been used as plantations fully equipped with ventilation, lighting and irrigation systems, finding, overall, 280 growing plants, up to one and a half meters high.
And again, inside 4 abandoned truck trailers, the Carabinieri found as many equipped plantations, seizing a total of 720 growing plants and dozens of bags of plant substance in the processing phase.
The narcotic, for an amount of approximately 800 kg, and the area where it was found have been seized and investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Velletri are underway.
