“Never change a winning team. After last year’s success we have decided to revive the Malatestiano della Libertà Festival with an even richer program of guests and themes. The concept of freedom is increasingly current and central in our times expressed in all its facets but above all in the defense of freedom of speech and expression which is often under attack. For this reason we decided to create a program with guests from various cultural backgrounds who can compare themselves with each other and decided to conclude the festival with a comparison between the mayoral candidates in Cesena”, explain the organizers Francesco Giubilei (Nazione Futura), Lucia Macagnino (Valori and Freedom), Tommaso Marcatelli (Il Crocevia).

“The return of the Malatestiano della Libertà Festival to Cesena – adds the president of Nazione Futura Giubilei – testifies to the success of the first edition of the initiative which took place last year. We have decided to propose this important event again with an even richer program of guests to discuss culture, economy, current affairs, the environment and politics. We do it with national and local guests with attention also in view of the next local elections with a debate between the mayoral candidates but also solidarity initiatives. Special thanks to Valori e Libertà, Crocevia and Confcommercio for their support.”

“Freedom and Culture are founding themes for Crocevia – highlights the president Tommaso Marcatelli – who supports this festival convinced that it is of great interest for the city. Today in particular we note a growing inability for dialogue at a national level and also in Cesena, caused by the fact that everyone recognizes the adversary as an enemy to be defeated. Our city, a Malatesta city, proud of its municipal roots, cradle of important pontificates, city with many martyrs of the Resistance, republican and popular Catholic city, has lost this capacity for dialogue and discussion, with responsibility on both sides. The Festival is an important tool to break this perverse pattern, a sad legacy of the past.”

“Since 2007 Valori e Libertà – underlines the president Maria Lucia Macagnino – has acted to promote local culture and values, social solidarity and aggregation. We are honored to be part of the team that brought the Cesena Freedom Festival to life again this year. The theme of Freedom, expressed in various aspects that embrace the lives of all of us, is more topical than ever, especially if we consider situations that appear on the doorstep of our country. Getting used to constructive dialogue, discussion and attributing the right value to the founding principles of society is a necessary and urgent step.”

“Confcommercio – highlights the Cesena president Augusto Patrignani – together with its proven partners has committed to providing the city with an extraordinary cultural in-depth event with first-level guests to discuss politics, economics, the environment and society, trying to provide useful ideas for the territorial level. The growth of the territorial system arises from debate and discussion and a far-sighted entrepreneurial representative organization invests sowing in this terrain, a contribution first of all to democracy and in a broader sense to creating an environment favorable to the growth of work and well-being which can be achieved by supporting the small business system and freedoms, as the title of the event states. We are also pleased that in the context of the Malatestiano Festival of Freedom, the public debate between the three mayoral candidates for the municipal elections on 8 and 9 June will be held, as the last Sunday appointment of a two-day truly full of opportunities”.
