Raffaele Gulmanelli from Imola lost his life last week during a dive on the island of Giglio and now his family and closest friends have decided to keep his memory alive and honor him by taking to the sea, to discover its charm, the most disadvantaged people. Precisely those with whom Gulmanelli, 36, was engaged as a social worker working at the Department of Mental Health and Pathological Addictions of the Imola Local Health Authority. The project is called «Vela d’amare», because that’s what Raffaele, who had been working on it himself for some time, wanted it to be called, combining his passion for the sea with the experience of freedom of the sailing boat.

Gulmanelli died on Friday 26 April due to an illness while diving on the island where he was spending a few days of holiday in Giglio Campese, where the family has a house and where he often went. His sister Matilde Clelia and his friend Silvano Brizzi, who were with him in those days, are the people who first identified him and tried to help him, to resuscitate him, unfortunately in vain.
