The three-car accident
Loredana Corona, mother of two children and recent grandmother, by profession former Campalto bank, was traveling along the state road 14 Triestina, while he was behind the wheel of his Fiat Panda. She was suddenly struck by an illness: she had crossed into the oncoming lane, colliding with a Yaris and involving a third vehicle, an Opel Antara. The women driving the Yaris and the Opel respectively were injured, but not life-threatening: the speed held by vehicles was low also because when the Panda started to skid the other drivers had understood that there was something wrong. The other drivers, two women from eastern Veneto, who were rescued and taken to hospital, were subjected to checks and then discharged.
Death in hospital
Loredana Corona instead when the doctors had started to revive her he was already in cardiac arrest. The health workers, after long maneuvers, had managed to save her from death that afternoon and had her hospitalized at the San Donà di Piave hospital with a reserved prognosis. Then some had arrived during the night complications and, before dawn on April 23, Loredana Corona passed away in hospital.
“A drama that adds to the tragedy”
A mourning followed by another: when Loredana Corona’s mother has known that the daughter was dead – and that this was the real reason why in those days she never went to see her again – was overwhelmed by grief. Within three days Domenica Loddo also felt ill and is dead.
