Monitoring by the Perugia Traffic Police to prevent imprudent conduct
The monitoring services of the Perugia Traffic Police continue to work to prevent imprudent conduct and reduce road accident victims
The Perugia Traffic Police Section continues its monitoring services to prevent imprudent conduct along the main road arteries. The objective is to raise user awareness of correct vehicle driving behavior and reduce road accident victims.
The operators, engaged in patrol duty with 24-hour shifts, monitored 252 vehicles and 269 people. As part of the checks, the officers of the Perugia Section and the Todi, Foligno, Città di Castello and Castiglione del Lago detachments ascertained and contested 391 infringements of the Highway Code, including 8 for violation of the rules on the correct use of seat belts safety.
Also important were the results of the speed control services, carried out with the tools supplied, which made it possible to contest 108 sanctions for exceeding the established limits.
The checks by the Todi Traffic Police Detachment also made it possible to catch a driver in a state of psychophysical alteration due to abuse of alcoholic substances. Another driver, however, refused to be asked to take a breathalyzer test. Both were therefore referred to the Judicial Authority for driving while intoxicated as required by article 186 of the Highway Code.
Also noteworthy are the results obtained in the control of heavy vehicles, those used for the transport of goods and buses, both nationally and foreignly registered, which aim to monitor compliance with the regulations with the greatest impact on safety road traffic, compliance with the rules governing the arrangement of the load, the documentation of the material transported and compliance with the weight limits of the goods which, in this case, do not allow tolerances or exemptions. In fact, 100 infringements were detected and sanctioned by the Traffic Police officers.
Overall, 358 points were deducted and 5 licenses were withdrawn
