Savona – The request for a ceasefire arises from Savona.
For a week the The Bishop’s Palace is transformed into a “Peace Workshop”, where discussion, music, information and even a relay hunger strike become the gears to invoke the end of all wars.
The initiative comes from the conscientious objectors of Savona, who from today will meet to “offer a credible narrative of peace”.
«We believe it is urgent to make our voice heard – explain the promoters -. As Tacitus wrote, we do not believe that peace coincides with the silence of destruction, but that it must be built through the constant pursuit of justice. War is nothing but a very serious disease. We do not want to propose solutions, but to denounce indifference. We don’t want to give in to resignation. All are invited to attend”.
The Episcopal Palace and its Peace Workshop will be manned day and night, with people fasting, others showing solidarity, there will be a space for discussion open to all. Today at 9pm, the inauguration will be in music, in the church of Sant’Andrea, with the “Mal d’Estro Ensemble” concert, then the relay hunger strike will begin.
