The Fiera dei Mestieri returns in spring, now in its ninth edition and now a traditional moment of meeting between culture and business, the result of the collaboration between the Province and Confartigianato Imprese Bergamo. The event was presented yesterday (March 27) by the provincial president, Pasquale Gandolfithat of Confartigianato, Giacinto Belliniand by the provincial councilor with responsibility for school planning, Umberto Valois.

The location of the courtyard of the Palace has been confirmed, which in 2024 will also be transformed from the home of the Municipalities, for a week, into the “House of trades”. The Fair, a tool for the orientation path of lower secondary school children, aims to relaunch professional training. The local school office, the Diocese and the Municipality, the Youth Information Space, Confindustria, Bergamo Sviluppo – Chamber of Commerce and parents’ associations also participate in the event. 22 schools and professional institutes will be present to promote study courses active in the area.

The details of the initiative

The Fair will be held from Monday 8 April to Friday 12 April, from 9am to 1.30pm, in the Cortile Fratelli Quarti of the Province, with free access for all. For organizational reasons, reservations were requested by school groups and the event is preparing to welcome 109 classes, with approximately two thousand students and two hundred accompanying teachers. The formula remains unchanged which sees the proposals divided into thematic areas, in which the students themselves, accompanied by teachers, will show the secrets and beauty of “know-how” to citizens, families and students of lower secondary schools: Mechanics, Tourism and Sport, Fashion, Wood, Graphics, Agriculture, Construction – Home systems, Personal services, Chemistry, Electrical – electronics, Food, Commercial services.

Each day includes a visit to the Fair by school groups, who after an initial welcome by representatives, entrepreneurs and artisans of Confartigianato in the Ermanno Olmi auditorium in via Sora, will continue their journey inside the Fair. At the end of the visit they will have the opportunity to visit some monuments, accompanied and guided by the students of the Tourism and Sport area: the Palazzo della Provincia and the internal garden with the Sculpture Park, as well as the Piacenza Center and the Donizetti Theatre.
