The parade will be held on Saturday 15 June Rome Pride. The event, now in its thirtieth edition, symbolizes the fight and demand for civil rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition to the traditional demonstration, which will start in Piazza della Repubblica, other events, shows and talks have also been organized to celebrate Pride. What is the Rome Pride 2024 programme?
Exhibitions, discussions and shows on topics related to LGBTQIA+ rights and diversity are scheduled in Rome from 1 to 15 June. All the events of Pride Croisettethis is the name of the event, are free to enter and are held from 6pm to 2am at Avenue of the Baths of Caracalla. Naturally, then, the highlight of the Roman Pride month will be the parade that will pass through the streets of the center. The day will end at the Capannelle Hippodrome, where – in collaboration with Rock in Roma – a concert will be held with live music and DJ sets. Tickets can be purchased on the main sales channels.
The route of Rome Pride
The route of the Rome Pride 2024 procession will start from Republic square, a few steps from Termini Station. It will pass through Piazza dei Cinquecento, and cross the Esquiline (Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, Via Merulana and Via Labicana) until you reach Colosseum Square. From here the procession will head towards Via delle Terme di Caracalla. Along the route there are refreshment points, fountains and bars. The meeting time, however, is fixed to 3pm on Saturday.
Who is the godmother 2024?
As per tradition, the festival organization has chosen its own godmother, that is, a prominent figure who represents the event. If in 2023 Paola and Chiara were chosen, and the previous year the focus was on Elodie, this year the organization announced Annalisa as godmother 2024.
The Ligurian singer, then, will also be special guests of the evening at Capannelle. Annalisa had her say in this regard “Honored to be able to give my contribution on this important day”.
How to get to the starting point of the parade?
To participate in Rome Pride 2024, it is essential to know how to reach the starting point of the procession, which this year, as reported, will be Piazza della Repubblica. This is a very convenient point for those coming from out of town, but also for those reaching the parade from other neighborhoods of Rome. In particular, you will be able to get:
- On the train: a few hundred meters away is the Roma Termini station, convenient as it is the arrival point of regional lines, high-speed lines and the terminus of the train to Fiumicino Airport.
- By metro: you can get off at Repubblica station on Metro A or Termini on Metro B.
- By tram: tram lines 5 and 14 stop nearby.
- By bus: in Piazza dei Cinquecento there is the terminus of city and extra-urban bus lines.
