The billionaire’s pre-wedding celebrations continue Anant Ambani and his future wife Radhika Merchant: The (almost) spouses set sail on a four-day cruise in the Mediterranean. Obviously there is no shortage of company: and in fact together with them there are over 1,200 guests who will enjoy highly coveted parties throughout Europe with private performances by stars such as Katy Perry, Pitbull hey Backstreet Boys.
You may remember the couple for their announcement which had caused a lot of discussion: in March the two had declared that they had organized an extremely glamorous party to celebrate their upcoming wedding (which is still a long time coming) in Jamnagar, India. A big, fat, $130 million-plus wedding. But who is the couple? And why are they so powerful?

The future spouses and the wedding date
Anant, 29, is the son of the richest man in Asia, while she, Radhika, his age, comes from a family of industrialists. But the real question is: when will this wedding really take place? The date is set for July 12th to Jamnagar, in the state of Gujarat. And obviously international celebrities and billionaires certainly cannot be missing among the guests. CEOs of the world’s biggest companies, Bollywood and cricket stars had already gathered to take part in the pre-wedding celebrations that have been going on for months now.

The list of over 1,200 guests at the pre-wedding event includes various other Indian billionaires such as Gautam Adani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Disney CEO Bob Iger, with whom Reliance, Ambani’s group, has just concluded a merger worth around 8.5 billion dollars. The president of the giant will be the billionaire’s wife, Nita Ambani. Also on the guest list are BlackRock founder Larry Fink, Alphabet chief executive Sundar Pichai, former Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper, Swedish prime minister Carl Bildt, former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd, the king of Bhutan and Ivanka Trump.
Now, pre-wedding events have resumed, as the couple recently took more than 1,000 friends and family – including global tech CEOs, Bollywood stars and Hollywood legends – on a private cruise across the Mediterranean. The future husband and wife, together with their guests, stopped in Europe: among the places they visited, Sicily, but also Rome and Cannes.
