The stories of the war, the difficulties of youth, the past affections recalled by the elderly to leave a trace for the young. He brought together two different generations with the initiative that involved the students of the State Professional Institute for Industry and Crafts “Ercole Rosa” of San Severino and which was promoted, as part of the activities of the Spazio Giovani 2.0 project, by the Help SOS Salute e Famiglia association, also directly involving the elderly guests of the “Lazzarelli” retirement home, a company for personal services of the Municipality of San Severino , which hosted the activity, where the boys interviewed their grandparents and created a comic book entitled “The story of Mario”.
“Mario is a 14 year old boy who lives in Granali. It is 1940, his father is at war and his grandfather is ill: many responsibilities fall on his shoulders. He doesn’t have a simple life: but he has a dream…”. Thus begins the story of “Mario”, a country boy with the dream of becoming a mechanic, from which the book inspired by the stories of the elderly was born collected during a meeting that took place this winter at “Lazzarelli”. The elders put together the memories of the war, of the difficulties of their youth, of their past affections and the boys translated their words into life drawings.
The creators, promoters and implementers of the initiative wanted to thank the president of the retirement home, Teresa Traversa, for having welcomed them with such availability together with all the staff and the beautiful guests, the experts Daniela Zepponi and Riccardo Messi, the professors Adriana Friends and Roberta Tacchi. The event was part of the “Youth Space 2.0: together to grow and progress” project of the leading association Help of San Severino, financed by the Marche Region and the Department for youth policies and universal civil service, with the Interscambi call of the Ministry of Youth Policies.
The project turned out to be the fruit of a network of associations, schools and municipalities: the City of San Severino, the Andrej Tarkovskij Cultural Center and the Virgilio Puccitelli also of San Severino Marche, Equilibri di Corridonia, the Judo Samurai youth association of Jesi-Chiaravalle, the Red Rete Educazione Digitale of Macerata, the Asd Essepiemme of Jesi, with the schools Ipsia “Corridoni” of Corridonia, Ipsia “Don Pocognoni” of Matelica, Ipsoea “Varnelli of Cingoli, the comprehensive institute “Strampelli ” of Castelraimondo and the “Gigli” comprehensive institute of Monteroberto, with the collaboration of the municipalities of Corridonia, Matelica, Gagliole, Cingoli, Jesi, Monteroberto and San Marcello.
