Stop albums and concerts: The Welfare State is taking a break until further notice

The break was in the air but yesterday the official announcement arrived which was witnessed live by the fans present at the Sherwood Festival in Padua. The Welfare State stops for a while and withdraws some scenes until further notice. The influence of the bereavement suffered by the Bolognese band which in June 2023 had to say goodbye to the historic producer Matteo Romagnoli, who died after a long illness, is clear on the decision. The “sixth man” man of the Welfare State had founded the Garrincha Dischi label in 2008. In fifteen years of activity, Lodo Guenzi’s group has recorded six albums and registered two participations in the Sanremo Festival. But to continue doing things as they were at the beginning, you need to do it in the right spirit.

We will return when we are happy to do so

“We need to stop running. We’ll come back when we’re happy to do it, to start making records again, to be together, to go on stage and to take back our joy,” Alberto Bebo Guidetti declared in an interview with Rai that announced a period of introspection. “In 2023 this band changed its shape forever, from six we became five without wanting to and without being able to avoid it. Now we need time to look each other in the eyes,” Bebo wrote in an Instagram post in 2023. Regardless of how long it takes, fans will be ready when they decide to come back.
