Used books are collected: in exchange for shopping vouchers

On the occasion of World Book Day, which is celebrated on April 23, the Le Due Torri shopping center in Stezzano is organizing a weekend that aims to give books a new life. The protagonists will be the readers and volumes that, for one reason or another, no longer find space on the shelves at home. Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st Aprilanyone who goes to the appropriate one «Empty Library» point set up in the main gallery of the Stezzano shopping center by bringing the books he no longer reads, he will receive in exchange for vouchers to spend in the shops in the center.

By donating 10 to 15 books you will receive in exchange a 10 euro voucher, between 16 and 20 books a 15 euro voucher, over 20 books a 20 euro voucher. You will only be able to receive one voucher per day which will not exceed 20 euros, even if the number of volumes exceeds 20 units. Novels, children’s books, fiction books, comics in good condition, tourist guides and dictionaries will be accepted if published less than 2 years ago. However, school texts, encyclopedias, technical manuals, dated dictionaries, foreign language texts, books for adults, underlined, highlighted, ruined, messed up or missing pages books will not be taken into consideration.

The collected books will be donated to the association Antares Onlus – National Association for the Protection of Resident Adolescents, which deals with supporting children and young people with DSA and BES learning difficulties. Thanks to an agreement with the Municipality of Bergamo, the association manages the book houses located in the city parks, book crossing points where you can exchange, borrow, donate, read and then put away a book of your choice completely free of charge . The volumes collected through the event promoted by the shopping center in via Guzzanica will therefore be mainly allocated to this service.
