We all have something that made us feel bad, that didn’t let us sleep at night. We have all experienced hardships. I want to talk about it. I want to talk about the dark moments through my guests, because I think this can give those who listen to us the strength to react.” Thus the influencer and presenter Giulia Salemi tells, in a simple and concise way, his first podcast “I don’t do it for fashion”available on all streaming platforms and YouTube.

Giulia, tell us about your new project.
«It’s an hour-long chat. Intimate, true and sincere, with a special person. I’m not the protagonist. This time I’m the hostess.”

How was it born?
«I’ve wanted to do it for two years, but I didn’t have the right idea or the time needed. I was busy with other jobs. Then finally the stars aligned. I decided to talk about generational discomfort and to deal lightly with important topics to counter the superficiality and fiction present in today’s world.”

In the podcast you ask everyone: “How uncomfortable are you?”. Let’s turn the question over to you.
«I am confusion. I am no longer a 20 year old girl, but a 31 year old woman. I feel like I am in a transition phase, between the period of unconsciousness and that of responsibility. I’m really in a tailspin: the things I once liked I no longer like.”

What are you looking for now?
«I want the truth.

I’m tired of falsehood and superficiality, of ephemeral things. Before, mine was a chase for acceptance. Thats enough. I no longer want to let anyone make me feel right or wrong. The podcast is proof of this.”

How are you after this new experience?
«I feel extremely rich. Every guest taught me something.”

Which episode stuck in your heart the most?
«I’m sincere: the one with Alfonso Signorini, a friend who opened up and confided in himself generously. The Cinica Beautician also left a mark on me (the entrepreneur Cristina Fogazzi, founder of the cosmetics brand VeraLab, ed), who did a very sincere and clear analysis of social media with me.”

“I don’t do it for fashion”, just a few days after its release on April 12th, entered the top podcast rankings of Spotify Italy. What was your first reaction?
«I was shocked! I put a lot of passion into it. I confess that every day I check how it’s going and I’m surprised every time.

Television today doesn’t offer many opportunities. The podcast, on the other hand, is an excellent way to train and get involved.”

What do you hope for your future?
«Now I absolutely want to enjoy the present. My goal now is to grow this project, improve it, create themed episodes and have more and more guests. I care about it a lot. The podcast gives us the opportunity to expose our souls, and I want to continue doing so.”
