The renewal of the National Contract for Italian Seafarers is one step away.
The trade union organizations of Filt Cgil, Fit Cils and Uiltrasporti have in fact announced in an information notice to workers that they have signed the pre-agreement on the economic part with the employer counterpart, with effects starting from last January and valid for the whole of 2026. The salary increase, in reference to the average parameter (service chief petty officer) stands at 202 euros, divided into “138 euros on the minimum and 64 euros on the EAR (Additional element of remuneration)”.
This increase will be recognized in three successive moments and paid for 14 months with an impact on social security and severance pay: “40% from 1 July 2024 (i.e. €80.80 of which €55.20 minimum + 25, 60 of Ear); 30% from 1 July 2025 (i.e. 60.20 of which 41.40 minimums + 19.20 Ear); 30% from 1 July 2026 (i.e. 60.20 of which 41.40 minimums + 19, 20 Ear)”. Furthermore, “for the contractual holiday period (6 months), a one-off amount of 380 euros will be recognized, the same for all categories, paid in the following ways: 200 euros in July 2024, 180 euros in January 2025. Furthermore, the following will be provided and further increases divided as follows: 1% on health care; 1% additional on supplementary pension; 1% additional on equalization element in case of absence of second level bargaining”.
The confederal trade union organizations also underlined “the economic and regulatory agreement reached on the professional family of students whose wages have been significantly increased”. The definitive signature is expected in the next few weeks, after which the agreement will be submitted to a vote of the workers.
