The Buffalo Beer Festival program has been scaled back.

The Supervisory Commission forced a program scaling of the Buffalo Beer Festival, scheduled from today until Sunday 30 June, in Piazza Primo Maggio in Udine: in fact, the four planned concerts will be cancelled, while the event will remain as a food festival with street food stands, cocktail bars and, of course, traditional and craft beers from all over the world.

What happened.

The Supervision Commission on Public Entertainment Venues has carried out an inspection to verify the usability of the temporary structures set up by the Buffalo Beer company, on the occasion of the exhibition, to which the Municipality had granted prior authorization to carry out and merely occupy public land.

The Supervisory Commission which met today to verify the state of the structures set up has however found several irregularitiesboth as regards the electrical systems both in terms of fire preventionas well as for the health prevention part and structural works.

According to the Commission, chaired by the Councilor for Territorial Planning and made up of Provincial Fire Brigade Command, by the Medical Directorate of the Basic Public Health Body, from Local police and from the professionals in charge of the electrotechnical verification and from the municipal manager of the Environmental Sustainability and Energy Transition Service, emerged deficiencies relating to the safety of systems and connections electrical, as well as the presence of heating systems with open flames powered by solid fuel which are not foreseen.

According to the commission, there are also several irregularities in the fire safety plan. It was also noted that the Required documentation for the assembly report and the suspended loads of the stage. Finally, the Local Police also highlighted how the protection of part of the festival area from vehicular traffic was incomplete.

Following these considerations, therefore, the company has scaled down the event program, canceling some shows. “We are sorry for the missed opportunity” comments the Local Police Councilor Rose Toffano. “Unfortunately the organizing company did not have the necessary requirements to pass the checks of the Public Entertainment Commission. In these cases the Citizen safety comes first“.
