All people in the age group for the free cancer screening offered for the early diagnosis of breast, cervical and colorectal cancer receive a notification on the IO app. This was announced by the Department of Health Policies of the Puglia Region. The new channel is active in the various phases foreseen by the three screening programs: people receive the notification of the invitation with the appointment reminder via the IO app as well as the communication that the result of the screening test performed is ready.
The Puglia Region is thus adding a new digital communication tool to those already provided for in the Prevention Communication Plan through the multichannel platform Sm@rtScreening: phone call, text message and email, in addition to the traditional paper letter. Whatsapp channels will also be active soon. For screening for the prevention of breast and cervical cancer (or neck of the uterus), the invitation notification offers the details of the pre-arranged appointment: date, time, location of the exam and booking code. Colon-rectal screening does not require a pre-determined appointment since the recipient collects the kit (sterile container) at an affiliated pharmacy and then returns the collected sample.
The notification, in this case, reminds you of the instructions for participating. In all screening notifications, additional information is also offered: the single regional toll-free number 800 957773 to request information and to request changes to appointments, the Puglia Salute portal page dedicated to oncology screenings where you can learn more or interact with the automatic system ( chatbot), and the reference to the information relating to the processing of personal data.
