FAST (Free advertising supported streaming television) platforms are quickly becoming among the most widely used streaming services in the world, which is why Sony Pictures announced the launch of Sony One, an offering of 8 free channels dedicated to its immense content library. Sony One will also be available starting from April in Italy on LG and Samsung’s FAST platforms, respectively LG Channels and Samsung TV Plusaccessible via smart TVs and smartphone apps.
The Sony One offering will consist of the following channels:
Sony One Comedy TV: dedicated to sitcoms like Seinfeld, The Nanny and The Goldbergs;
Sony One Thriller TV: will offer action series such as Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and Justified;
Sony One Faves: dedicated to TV classics such as Bewitched, Community and Dawson’s Creek;
Sony One Comedy HITS: in Sony’s description, “classic” comedy films with iconic characters like the Step Brothers, Jerry Maguire, and Easy A;
Sony One Action HITS: dedicated to action and adventure films, such as District 9 and the Men in Black and Zombieland franchises;
Sony One Shark Tank: dedicated to the American reality show of the same name;
Sony One Dragons’ Den: the English reality show of the same name, as well as the original format of the reality show Shark Tank;
Sony One Blacklist: channel entirely dedicated to the TV series of the same name.
The catalog will be customized for each country in which the service will be launched and will be offered in the local language, so the contents will mostly be available in Italian.

The release makes no mention of the availability of the new service on Sony televisions. We would like to remind you that for some years now, exclusively on Sony Electronics’ high-end TVs, the Bravia Core service has been available, which offers access to a catalog of Sony Pictures films also in 4K, HDR and with high bitrate streaming. Sony One, on the other hand, like the other FAST offers, will probably not have any significant technical features.
