Two people died in a tragic road accident in Rome. The dramatic event occurred around 11:30 today, June 30, along Via del Foro Italico, in the direction of the Olympic Stadium, near Via Salaria.

This stretch of road is unfortunately notorious for its dangerousness, with accidents occurring with alarming frequency. The area is commonly called the Olimpica and It constitutes a section of the ring road that runs parallel to the Aniene river.

The victims of the accident were the drivers of two motorcycles: a Buell BL1 and a Triumph. The 118 doctors promptly intervened at the scene of the accident, but unfortunately they were unable to do anything other than confirm the death of the two motorcyclists.

The local police, with the Parioli group, arrived on site to start investigations and clarify the circumstances of the accident. Both motorcycles were seized to allow further technical investigations.

To allow investigators to carry out the necessary investigations and reconstruct the exact dynamics of what happened, the road was temporarily closed starting from Via delle Valli.

This caused significant traffic disruption, but was necessary to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the rescue and investigation operations.

The stretch of road in question, being one of the main arteries connecting to the Olympic Stadium, is often busy with traffic, especially during sporting events and demonstrations.

The frequency of accidents in this area raises concerns about road safety and requires in-depth consideration of measures to reduce risks to road users.

The local community is shocked by the incident, and many residents express their condolences for the victims and their families. (archive photo)
