THE NAME AND NICKNAME – Céline Marie Claudette Dion was born on March 30, 1968 in Charlemagne, a small town in Quebec, in Canadain a family made up of parents Thérèse Tanguay and Adhémar Dion and 14 children. At home there is no lack of passion for music, so much so that the name Céline was given to her in honor of the song of the same name by French singer-songwriter Hugues Aufray. As an adult, thanks to her career, the artist has also earned a nickname that underlines her successes: “Queen of Power Ballads”
A DRAWER AS A CRADLE – The Dion family was of humble origins and, to save the cost of a crib, Céline Dion as a baby she was put to sleep in a drawer. Being the youngest of 14 children, she herself has said several times, once she grew up she shared a bed with her sisters and often wore the clothes inherited from them. “I have always lived surrounded by adults and children much older than me – said the artist – From them I learned everything I needed to know. As far as I was concerned, real life existed around them.”
