VITERBO – In respect of the rights of the person under investigation and the presumption of innocence, as far as is currently known, subject to further investigation and pending judgement, the following is communicated.
On the afternoon of last June 20th, staff of the State Police of the Flying Squad of the Viterbo Police Headquarters carried out the order of the Court of Viterbo for the precautionary measure in prison against a 33-year-old. Her man had been mistreating her partner for several months, making it intolerable for her to continue living together, repeatedly beating and offending her.
Following yet another argument, he had caused injuries to the woman for which she was reported with a 30-day prognosis. At the end of the subsequent investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Viterbo, the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of Viterbo issued a first measure of the Prohibition of Approach to the offended party which, after other criminal episodes, was however aggravated with the precautionary custody order under house arrest with the application of an electronic bracelet.
The suspect, during his home detention, continued to threaten death and insult the victim’s family via social networks and for this reason the judicial authority decided to further aggravate the previous measure with the provision of precautionary custody in prison . The man was thus transferred to the “Nicandro Izzo” prison in Viterbo.
