There is news regarding the explosion of the bomb that took the life of a Czech child in Dalmatia on June 19th. As the investigation into the Bilišani tragedy near Obrovac continued, the police arrested the father, a 46-year-old Czech citizen, on charges of endangering the child’s life by a potentially dangerous act or means.

“It is suspected that the man arrived in the Knin area on Wednesday afternoon in the company of his family and friends, according to the itinerary previously agreed upon by them. Where, at the entrance to the dangerous area of the military training camp, he did not respect the warning signs clearly displayed in Croatian and English and, believing that there would be no risky consequences, he entered the restricted area with the child and allowed them to take an explosive device that the little boy brought with him and which the suspect put in the car – the Zadar police announced -. Shortly afterwards, due to a breakdown in the car, the family stopped along the provincial road and the child extracted the explosive device, which at a certain point was activated”. Following the explosion, the child died on the spot due to his injuries, while two women suffered serious injuries and a man was slightly injured.

Police officers carried out investigations in the Bilišan area, at the site of the explosion, while the second part of the same was carried out in Knin. “All traces found at the scene of the accident have been collected and will be forwarded for further in-depth examination to the experts of the Center for Forensic Examination, Research and Expertise “Ivan Vučetić” in Zagreb to determine what type of bomb it is and its activation method. After the criminal investigation, a criminal complaint will be filed against the 46-year-old at the Zadar State Prosecutor’s Office and within the legal deadline he will be handed over to the detention unit of the Zadar Police,” the police said.
