Bitter and sweet day for the Italian tennis players on stage atATP 5oo from Halle. Great win for Matteo Berrettini against the American born in 2004 Alex Michelsen, very effective on grass: 7-6 6-2 in an hour and a half of match. Nothing to do however Luciano Darderi. The Italian-Argentine, in the first match of his career on this surface, was defeated by Jan-Lennard Struff, but only in the tie-break of the third set: 7-6 5-7 7-6 the final result. Also on the pitch this evening Lorenzo Sonegowho will have to deal with number 4 in the ATP ranking Alexander Zverev.
Atp Halle, Berrettini’s match
First set tight the one between Berrettini and Michelsen, with the Roman tennis player managing to recover the break from behind, recover from the initial 4-1 and take the partial to the tie break won seven points to five. The second set was also hard fought, but Berrettini made his young opponent move more and served with more consistency and precision: the Italian tennis player ahead by two breaks he closes the match with a splendid passer backhand.
