Tragic road accident, late yesterday evening, Monday 17 June, in Cava de’ Tirreniin the province of Salerno: Francesco Pontone, a 17-year-old boy resident in nearby Castel San Giorgio, died following the accident. According to an initial reconstruction, the 17 year old was, as a passenger, on board a scooter, driven by a friend when, in via XV Luglio, near the Cava railway station, for reasons still being ascertained, the two-wheeled vehicle collided with a car; Francesco Pontone fell on the asphalt and, at that moment, he would have been hit by a truck, whose driver would not have noticed his presence.
The 17-year-old was rescued by the 118 health workers, who could not help but confirm his death; However, the 17-year-old’s friend who was driving the scooter was unharmed. The police also arrived on site and carried out all the necessary investigations to determine the exact dynamics of the accident.
