CARMIGNANO – Less than a year later, the same type of accident occurred for father and son. On a motorbike against a car, along the Regional Road 53 Postojna (Vicenza-Treviso) with a different destiny. A year ago the forty-year-old son was saved, yesterday, June 15, instead for Renato Scuccato, 65 years old, retired trader from Carmignano di Brenta, there was absolutely nothing that could be done. Scuccato donated part of his time to volunteering, specifically to the public assistance and rescue association SoS Alta Padovana which is based in Casoni di Fontaniva.
THE DYNAMICS
The terrible accident occurred at 12.45 pm, in via Gorizia, section of the 53 Postumia in the municipality of Bolzano Vicentino, province of Vicenza. Scuccato’s motorbike collided with a Fiat Panda with two elderly spouses on board. The exact dynamics of the accident are being examined by the Carabinieri who intervened to carry out legal investigations and to divert traffic along secondary roads as the important road was completely closed to traffic for three hours. Impact so violent that the motorcyclist ended up under the small car. The firefighters who arrived from Vicenza lifted the Fiat Panda using special pneumatic cushions. Scuccato was thus freed from the weight of the vehicle and entrusted to the Berici doctors who unfortunately were unable to do anything other than confirm his death due to the multiple trauma he suffered. Any resuscitation maneuver is useless. The couple in the car were unharmed and obviously very distressed. For decades the Scuccato family had an electrical appliance shop in Carmignano di Brenta. When they passed away, the business was closed, but continued, thanks to the experience gained, by the two sons with two different shops. Having retired a few years ago, Roberto closed the business, dedicating himself even more to his family, motorbikes and volunteering.
THE PREVIOUS
Not even a year ago the family had been tested by a similar road accident. It was 10pm on Friday 7 July when a car and a motorbike collided on Postumia in San Pietro in Gu. Scuccato’s son was driving the latter. He was taken to intensive care in Padua with a reserved prognosis due to the severity of the injuries sustained. He spent several months in hospital, but he survived. For the passenger on the motorbike with him, the prognosis for fractures is 60 days.
Unfortunately for Renato Scuccato fate was decidedly more adverse and nefarious. Condolence was expressed by Mayor Eric Pasqualon. The date of the funeral has not been set pending the conclusion of the investigation and the authorization from the judicial authorities.
