Yesterday afternoon 14 June 2024, the Carabinieri of the station of Falcone have implemented an order for the application of precautionary custody in prison, issued by the Judge for the Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Patti, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, led by the Chief Prosecutor Dr. Angelo Vittorio Cavallo, against a 25-year-old held responsible for the crime of persecutory acts against his former employer.
The complaint filed by the woman at the Falcone Carabinieri Station allowed the military to document the multiple criminal actions carried out by the arrested person, the results of which allowed the Deputy Public Prosecutor of Patti, Dr. Antonietta Ardizzone, to request the application of the personal precautionary measure in prison in reference to the ascertained conduct.
Man, in fact, with repeated and constant conduct, having not accepted the employer’s choice to fire him, engaged in such harassing conduct as to generate in the victim a well-founded fear for his own safety and that of his relatives. On several occasions the man lurked inside and outside the restaurant, annoying and intimidating customers and employees present. The 25-year-old is now confined to the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
The above, for the purposes of exercising the right to freedom of the press, constitutionally guaranteed and respecting the rights of the suspectwho, in consideration of the current phase of the Preliminary Investigations, is to be presumed innocent until the irrevocable sentence which ascertains his responsibilities and with the clarification that the trial, which will take place in cross-examination with the parties and the defenses before the Judge third and impartial, it may also end with proof of the absence of any form of responsibility on the part of the suspects themselves.
