Italy U20 pre-European Championship starting tonight in UD with five Fvg visiting Datome tomorrow morning

The journey of Italy Under 20 men towards’European category which will be held in Gdynia, Poland from 13th to 21st July. Coach Paul Galbiati and the twenty-four players called up met today, Friday 21 June, in Udine. The Italians will play in group C against Israel, Germany And Czech Republic then crossing group A of France, Serbia, Greece And Poland.

Among the twenty-four called up there are three Fvg athletes and two non-regional ones, who will be the only ones to play for a team from our region. The three Italian Fvg players are from Trieste. It’s about Philip Rooster194cm play-guard, who played in A2 withUcc Casalpusterlengo this season and until a couple ago he was a teammate of Mauro Zacchignaanother Italian player from 2004 who instead defended the colours Rucker San Vendemiano in national B. The third is Matteo Visintinplayer who played for San Giobbe Basket Etruria Chiusi relegated to national B.

The two “foreigners” who, however, will be resident at the Ueb Cividale in A2 they are Leonardo Marangonalready returning from a season with the ducal team, and Francis Ferrari arriving, however, from the Borgomanero College. Both 2005, they were in training camp in Trento among the seventeen of Italy’s coach Gianmarco Pozzecco. He began preparing for the Pre-Olympic while waiting for the Azzurri to be called up and play in the championship final with Virtus Bologna and Olimpia Milano, who won the championship.

Tomorrow, Saturday 22 June, the Under 20 men’s national team will have the pleasure of having the presence of Louis Given to me, coordinator of the men’s national teams, at the morning training session. The session, scheduled from 10 to 11.30 am, will be held at the Primo Carnera sports hall, which is currently hosting the training sessions of the Italian U20 selection. This will be followed by afternoon training with two groups, from 5pm to 9pm. At Carnera the stands will be open to the public and the organization kindly asks anyone wishing to attend to enter through these entrances and not through the athletes’ entrance.

To prepare for the continental review, two friendly matches are scheduled Udine against the Croatia Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June and the now super classic of the summer, the international “Vigilio De Silvestro memorial-Bepi Meneghin trophy” tournament in Domegge di Cadore (Belluno) from 5 to 7 July with Slovenia, Spain And Greece.
