The 10K started this evening from Cortina La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB. In its second edition, the 10K, all at night with departure and arrival from Fiames, saw lined up 450 athletes, between men and women, ready to travel the 10 km and 200 meters of altitude along the route hidden in the woods. The Scarpa team does the men’s en plein, with the victory for the very young Francesco Bongio, who finished in 34:32 ahead of teammates Marcos Villamuera Izquierdo (34:59) and Gabriel Bazzoli (35:15). Giulia Pol’s performance was excellentThe North Face athlete, who wins the race with a time of 39:28, ninth overall. Closing out the women’s podium were the Englishwoman Katie Young (43:25) and the indomitable Francesca Pretto (44:06).

Today at 5pm we continue with the 20K which will start from Corso Italia in Cortina d’Ampezzo, 750 athletes are expected at the start who will face what is considered the “baddest” of the 5 scheduled races, 20 km of technical and steep descents climbs with a difference in altitude of 1000 meters which will give participants the sunset over the Dolomites.
