Today, 19 fires have occurred in the regional territory, 2 of which also required the intervention of at least one aircraft from the regional fleet.
Alarm in the countryside of the Municipality of Villanova Monteleone, locality “M. Pottu Codinu”. The extinguishing of the flames was coordinated by the staff of the Villanova Monteleone Forestry Corps Station and the Alghero patrol, assisted in turn by the staff on board the helicopter coming from the Anela CFVA base. The DOS requested the sending of the CAN8 coming from Olbia. Three teams from the Forestas Agency and a team from the Sassari Fire Brigade intervened. The operations to shut down the aircraft were still concluded at 5.30 pm.
Fire also in the countryside of the Municipality of Villanovafranca, locality “M. Narba”. The staff of the Barumini Forestry Corps Station coordinated the firefighting operations and requested the Villasalto helicopter to be sent with its own staff on board. In addition to the GAUF of Cagliari, two teams of volunteers from the associations of Villanovafranca and Senorbì and a team of the Iglesias Fire Brigade intervened. The operations to shut down the aircraft ended at 5.30 pm.
