Another day of overtime for the island’s firefighting teams

Today, 19 fires have occurred in the regional territory, two of which also required the intervention of aircraft from the regional and national fleet.

Alarm in the countryside of the Municipality of Macomer, locality “Cantoniera di Bara”. The extinguishing of the flames was coordinated by the staff of the Macomer Forestry Corps Station, by the Bolotana patrol, assisted in turn by the staff on board the helicopters coming from the CFVA bases of Farcana and Anela.

The CFVA DOS requested the dispatch of the Canadair aircraft coming from Olbia. A team from the Forestas Agency of Bolotana and a team from the Macomer Fire Brigade also intervened. The operations to shut down the aircraft were still concluded at 5.15pm.

There was also a fire in Guasila, in the “Barru” area, which was put out by the staff of the Senorbì Forestry Corps Station who requested the dispatch of three light helicopters, two from Villasalto, one from Pula with the respective staff of the Forestry personnel on board and the Superpuma helicopter coming from Alà Dei Sardi with a helicopter-transported team on board. A Canadair previously involved in the Macomer fire also operated on the fire. In addition to the GAUF of Cagliari, a Forestas team from Barumini and three teams of volunteers from the associations of Villanovafranca, Sant’Andrea Frius and Quartu Sant’Elena are intervening. The extinguishing operations are still underway.
