Ceccano. Accident during the night in Viale Giacomo Matteotti

On the night between 14 and 15 June, around 00:30, a violent road accident occurred in Via Giacomo Matteotti, at number 237, in Ceccano. In the collision between a Mercedes B-Class and an Audi Coupé TT, the latter caught fire, causing considerable apprehension among residents of the area.

The Frosinone Radiomobile Carabinieri and the Fire Brigade promptly intervened on site. Rescuers provided first aid to the injured and made the area safe.

From initial reconstructions, it would appear that the Mercedes, in which a man and three 16-year-old girls were travelling, rear-ended the Audi TT which, due to the impact, caught fire. The four occupants of the Mercedes were transported by ambulance to the Spaziani Hospital in Frosinone for treatment. Their conditions, although not serious, required a five-day prognosis for the three girls.

The man and woman who were traveling in the Audi TT, however, independently went to Alatri Hospital, where they also underwent medical checks. Fortunately, none of the injuries are life-threatening.

Rescue operations continued for several hours. The Fire Brigade put out the Audi TT fire and made the area safe, avoiding the risk of further damage due to a gas main located nearby.

The Frosinone Radiomobile Carabinieri carried out investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident and ascertain any responsibilities. The damaged cars were then recovered by an authorized company.

The accident caused significant disruption to road traffic, which remained blocked for some time. The causes that led to the accident are yet to be clarified. The Carabinieri are conducting investigations to shed light on the matter.
