Fasano (BR) – The fourth round of the Italian Uphill Speed ​​Championship for historic cars took place in the Viterbo area, the 27th edition of the Lago-Montefiascone, organized by the Automobile Club Viterbo. For the Gretaracing colours, Francesco Iantorno took part in the race with his trusty Volkswagen Golf GTI in the 3rd Group, who managed to interpret the 4150 meters of the route well, from the lakeside of Bolsena to the location made famous for its excellent wine production. After completing the two reconnaissance climbs on Saturday in 3’13″25 and 3’04″47, maintaining a group position immediately after the tenth, he had to face the changing weather conditions in the race, which upset everyone’s plans. competitors.

In Race1 the driver from Cosenza posted a time of 3’02″87 while he had to defend himself in Race2, where he encountered some unreported oil spills but managed to climb despite the course made slippery by the rain in 3’08″33, a time that allowed him to gain around twenty positions in the overall ranking up to 45th place and 9th place in the Grouping, with victory in the T1600 class. “When I saw the rain, I tried a new grooved tire – said Francesco – but I wasn’t completely satisfied.
