The incident occurred in San Marzano sul Sarno in the early afternoon of today: the car, after being engulfed in flames, exploded, injuring 4 people.

Moments of fear in the early afternoon today, Friday 14 June, at San Marzano sul Sarnoa town in the province of Salerno, where a car suddenly exploded in the street, causing the 4 people injured. The incident happened around 3 p.m. in a side street of via Antonio Gramsci: from what we understand, the car, powered by methane, was first engulfed in flames and then exploded. Four people were injured, mainly affected by glass that exploded due to the explosion; none of them would have suffered serious consequences.

In addition to the 118 paramedics, the firefighters of Nocera Inferiore and Sarno intervened on site, supported by a tanker, who extinguished the flames and made the area safe; the firefighters then also checked for any damage to the structures located within the radius of the explosion. The carabinieri from the Nocera Inferiore territorial department also arrived on site and carried out all the necessary checks to determine the nature of the fire that affected the car, causing its explosion; from an initial reconstruction, the fire would have been accidental.
