VICTORY OF ABSTENTION, DEFEAT OF ALL!
Once the ballot boxes were closed and the counting was carried out, we witnessed, as always, proclamations of victory, expressions of great satisfaction, some more sincere admissions of disappointment for the result obtained, but in fact no one admitted that once again the the only unequivocal victory is that of abstentionism. The victory percentages are actually based on a very low turnout: 49.6%. There is little to celebrate for everyone! The lack of love for politics is clear, an alarming distrust towards those who have the power to govern and also a South that distances itself even further from the political life of the country, leaving room for those who can take advantage of this void of political ideals for their own benefit.
To start again we would need the authenticity and sincerity to affirm that whoever won actually didn’t win anything! With such a low percentage of voter turnout, perhaps the only thing to do is to open a concrete reflection on the reasons for this alarming lack of interest among citizens, starting from the only certain fact: no one won! And I add that probably no one will ever be able to win again until politics wears more credible clothes.
