AND the Iranian mountaineer Nasim Eshqi there winner of the 2024 “21st Century Adventurer Award” of the European Outdoor Film Tour.
The prize, promoted within the renowned exhibition of outdoor cinema, celebrates the adventurers of our time. With Nasim, the German sailor and climate activist were candidates Boris Herrmann and the Italian mountaineer, writer and aviator Simone Moro.
Nasim Eshqi was recently a guest at Imperia to present the his book “I was a rock – Now I am a mountain” and to tell his story at the Lagorio Civic Library, thanks to the event organized in collaboration between UISP Imperia, AIFO Imperia, Sorelle Clarisse, Soroptimist International and Non Una Di Meno Ponente Ligure, and the patronage of the Municipality of Imperia.

“The Iranian mountaineer Nasim Eshqi it doesn’t just belong to the world climbing elite, having opened more than 100 new routes around the world, but it is also a tireless supporter of the human rights, one of the voices of the fight for women’s rights in Iran. Nasim received the award during the OutDoor fair by ISPO and it was celebrated not only for its own incredible successes in sport climbing, but also for his tireless activism for human rights.
His dedication to both his craft and his activism is an inspiration to us all. Congratulations Nasim, keep it up.
The Adventurer of the 21st Century Award, presented by the European Outdoor Film Tour and defender, includes a prize of 20,000 euros. This is the fourth time it has been assigned to an individual who exemplifies the spirit of adventure and makes a significant impact beyond his sport.”
