Councillor Veloccia: “Ready to meet Lazio”

The Urban Planning Councilor of Rome Capital Maurizio Veloccia expressed himself on the interest and desire expressed by Claudio Lotito regarding the Flaminio Stadium: “We are obviously ready to meet SS Lazio and to to further investigate the possible proposal who will want to submit to us – says Veloccia – the fact that the Flaminio Stadium and more generally the entire quadrant are finally returning to the center of attention with various regeneration proposals finds in the Administration not only an interlocutor but also an active subject to promote the recovery of this city sports facility”, concluded the Urban Planning councilor.

In recent weeks the document on the restructuring of the plant has been considered and appreciated by Alexander Honoredthe Sports Councilor of Rome: “A crazy project, we are waiting for Lotito to present it. The Municipality will certainly do its part”.

The project of the new Lazio stadium at Flaminio

The objective is a modernization of the Flaminio da 50 thousand seatswhere there are now 24 thousand and the new stands of the facility, with an expense of 250 million euros. The stadium was inaugurated in 1959 and is protected and therefore, it cannot be modified if you want to increase the seats, install a roof or build structures to house shops of the owned facilities as happens in Turin with the Juventus StadiumThe president of Lazio has thought of some solutions that allow him not to change the original structure of the plant.

The Flaminio was designed in blocks. This means that in the new plan, the curves and semi-covered grandstand will only be restored, without modifications. Furthermore there are new modules that indicate the possibility of other stands to accommodate another 26 thousand people. In this way, excavation near the playing field to recover spaces for future stands is avoided.
