For the sector press and the many video game enthusiasts, the one organized by Microsoft it was one of the best events of recent years. In the course of Xbox Games Showcase staged on 9 June, numerous titles were presented (some of which were exclusive) and, surprisingly, also new consoles.
As pointed out by Satya NadellaCEO of the Redmond giant, this was the first event with the new ones study by Microsoft, like Activision Blizzard. Also for this reason there was great anticipation for the conference, which – which was not at all to be taken for granted, given the subdued recent events of the entire industry – did not betray expectations. «An amazing time, as we bring more games and ways to play to people around the world», wrote Nadella on X, taking up a post by Phil Spencer.
The new versions of Xbox Series S at the 2024 Showcase
The pace of Showcase 2024 was really fast, with trailers and gameplay clips fed to gaming enthusiasts without a moment’s pause. Among the most important announcements are those of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6Doom: The Dark Ages, Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, Perfect DarkFable, Flight Simulator 2024, Gears of War: E-Day And Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (all the trailers here). But there is also space for new consoles. Or rather, a new configurations of Xbox Series.
The new Xbox Series it does not include a disc player (it is therefore totally all-digital), but in terms of performance it is identical to the original model. Another novelty is the Galaxy Black version with 2TB of storage: the peculiarity is all in the body, with a pattern inspired by “by the constellations and the spirit of exploration and adventure evoked by space“. The first one costs 499.99 eurosthe second of 649.99 euros.
The third and last (not least) is the 1TB Xbox Series S with Robot White body. The purchase cost is 349.99 euros.
All the new Microsoft consoles will be available for purchase (also in Italy) during the Christmas holidays of 2024 at the prices indicated above.
