This is my final speech in the debate on the topic “Europe yes, but which Europe?” it cannot and is not intended to be a replica. The breadth and variety of the interventions and the authority of the speakers do not allow me to do so. This should be understood above all as my reflection on the inspiration of the interventions received.

Having said this, I firstly affirm the need for the EU to be based on a Constitution voted by a Constituent Assembly. Si licet seemed to compose magnis, Europe needs a Big Bang. And this Big Bang can only be the election by direct universal suffrage of a Constituent Assembly, voted with the sole task of deciding what democratic form the European Union should have; and to fix it in a fundamental law.
