ROME (ITALPRESS) – Returning from the success of his first tour in Australia, which confirmed him among the most active and appreciated Italian artists abroad, Mario Biondi pays homage to the great Italian singer-songwriter and releases the EP “L’Oro” on 7 June ”, last act of the “Crooning Undercover” project. In addition to the two songs “La donna cannone” by Francesco de Gregori, a single on the radio since 7 June, and “E tu come stai” by Claudio Baglioni, a single that anticipated the project, the EP contains 2 other great songs from the song Italian author, revisited with the unmistakable style of Mario Biondi: “Pensiero Stupendo” (Patty Pravo) and “On Earth, me and her” (Riccardo Cocciante). “L’Oro”, released by Beyond and distributed by The Orchard, represents the first project entirely in Italian in the artist’s discography.
The four songs contained in this EP are particularly dear to Mario Biondi and had a decisive role in his artistic training. In fact, the Sicilian crooner has stated several times that he grew up listening to a lot of Italian music, in particular the great singer-songwriters and performers of the 70s and 80s thanks above all to his father Stefano Biondi, also a well-known singer. “L’Oro” is therefore a tribute to the great artists who brought the original versions to success, but also a way of affirming how much these four songs were experienced as his own by the Artist, who now returns versions deeply inspired by his own musical background. The production of the songs was in fact handled by Biondi himself, who wanted to involve some musicians of the highest level as featuring: the pianists Danilo Rea and Massimo Greco, the violinist Alessandro Quarta and the Mario Bros, the band that accompanied Mario live at the beginning of his career, formed by Andrea “Satomi” Bertorelli, Andrea Celestino and Davide Drogo.
