LAUCO – One dead and four injured. This is the tragic outcome of the fatal accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon at 4.10pm, between Chiassis di Lauco and Muina di Ovaro, in Carnia, along the regional road 355 of Val Degano, in the municipality of Lauco. Two cars collided. A Volkswagen T-Roc and a Ford Cougar were involved. One man died in the accident and four other people suffered various injuries. On the same stretch last April 22, 24-year-old Thomas Del Linz lost his life. The victim was traveling as a passenger with a friend in the Volkswagen. This is Renzo De Nardi, born in 1949, originally from Aviano and resident in Pontebba. De Nardi was sitting next to the driver, in the front part of the vehicle. The driver, born in 1953 and resident in Moggio Udinese, was hospitalized in code red at the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine. The other injured people, however, are four, all part of the same family: father – born in 1975 in Casarano (Lecce) and professional soldier stationed in Friuli, mother and two children. The Tolmezzo carabinieri, the Tolmezzo local police and the Udine firefighters were on site. According to initial findings, the driver of the T-Roc crossed into the oncoming lane. The vehicles have been seized and a case of vehicular homicide will be opened.
