An interesting initiative envisaged by the FIP Calabria Committee led by President Paolo Surace, to foresee a continuation of the championships youth courses finished in April, organizing the Spring Tournament, thus giving the participating clubs the opportunity to continue their competitive activity, allowing the kids to gain more experience and complete the youth training course with appearances in official competitions.
Pallacanestro Palmi had an important run as they concluded the Primavera Tournament by collecting 4 victories out of 5 matches played, only losing narrowly in their debut away to Vibo Valentia, after an incredible comeback in the final minutes which had given rise to hopes of winning that match too .
Last Sunday in Reggio Calabria, the final against Asd JUMPING BASKET took place in the Boccioni gym. Match between teams that had already faced each other in the season, both in group B of the Under 15 silver, and in the previous week, with a round-trip series of the Primavera Tournament group which had seen the Palmi team win in both matches.

During the third and fourth quarters, Palmi’s orderly and organized play allowed the gap to widen, this time in favor of the boys in yellow and blue, even beyond double figures, allowing them to control the match in the final minutes, using the entire roster available and resisting Jumping’s comeback attempt.
44 to 35 is the final result, which kicks off the celebrations at Palmi for the victory of a trophy that was as unexpected as it was deserved on the pitch. All the protagonists were the boys from Pallacanestro Palmi, who during the tournament had the opportunity to gain more experience and give their contribution to the development of the game.
Hugs and handshakes at the end of the awards ceremony between the boys of the two teams, confirming the consolidated relationship of mutual esteem and friendship between the two clubs, whose managers Umberto Gira and Giuseppe Mauro were among the protagonists of Pallacanestro Palmi’s victory in the 91/92 Serie C championship.

We therefore remain focused on the objective, proud and happy with what we have already done so far.”
The activity of the young Palmesi students does not end with the final, in fact two boys from the team will participate with their friends from Botteghelle in the Roseto Summer League, a national youth tournament taking place in the Abruzzo city, and a large group will take part in the Bomber Camp in Sicily in at the beginning of July. In the meantime, the management has been working for weeks to plan the next season which will see important changes both in the youth sector and for the senior team.
